About Us
The genesis of Gen KIND™ dates back to 2008 when our founder Miles Wobbleton, a fan of superhero stories, was captivated watching the movie Hancock. Ray Embrey, played by Jason Bateman, launches AllHeart, a marketing campaign to encourage corporations to commit to changing the world through a simple display of a heart-based logo. It was then that Miles sensed a calling to inspire large-scale change on behalf of American youth.
Through involvement in the community as a practicing attorney, Miles gained awareness of the troubling disconnect between social challenges and the resources required to solve them. While many individuals and corporations were in the midst of enormous wealth creation, he noticed good people leading small-scale nonprofits struggling to effectively meet desperate needs due to lack of access to funding.
Taking action in his own way, Miles assembled a team of changemakers who got on board with the idea that we are living in a moment where we are primed to spark a powerful movement of philanthropy led by the next generation that fuels a brighter future for America’s youth.
The many problems facing youth are overwhelming — educational opportunities, mental health, suicide, bullying, gun violence, substance abuse, cancer, homelessness, poverty, and hunger.
We believe the most effective way to address these challenges is to host charitable campaigns that provide immediate help and fund the nonprofit organizations that serve on the frontlines and offer solutions for lasting change in our communities.
